Our government has a fundamental duty to be transparent and accountable to the people it serves.

Just before the parliamentary summer recess, it was confirmed that US nuclear weapons are once again being stationed at RAF Lakenheath in Suffolk — the first time since 2008. High-priority US transport aircraft designated for nuclear cargo have been detected landing at the base, and evidence shows that RAF Lakenheath has been upgraded to store new B61-12 nuclear bombs.

This shocking development has happened with no public consultation, no democratic debate in Parliament, and no information given to local communities — putting British people on the nuclear frontline without their consent.

It is our right to know whether weapons of mass destruction are being kept on our soil. The government must not be allowed to hide behind secrecy while putting us all at greater risk.

Together, we can push for a public statement from the Prime Minister, demand a full parliamentary debate and vote, and say clearly: Britain does not want US nuclear weapons.
