Ask your MP to Sign EDM 98: Storage of US nuclear weapons in the UK

It has been reported that the US Department of Defense has added the UK to a list of NATO nuclear weapons storage locations in Europe being upgraded under a multi-million dollar infrastructure programme. This action would see US nuclear weapons returned to the UK.

110 US/NATO free-fall B61 nuclear bombs were removed from RAF Lakenheath in 2008.

The return of US nuclear weapons to RAF Lakenheath, a base in the UK which is run by the US, is a dangerous development. It puts British citizens at risk and puts Britain on the frontline in a NATO/Russia war.

Members of Parliament have tabled Early Day Motion 98 calling on the government to decline to host US nuclear weapons at RAF Lakenheath and to use all possible diplomatic efforts to de-escalate current nuclear tensions.
